Nars Radiance Optimizing Primer

Okay guys so I know in the above picture that my product packaging looks a little dusty/grubby, but the silicone feeling tube makes it quite impossible to clean and this is exactly why you should always take photographs of the brand new items rather than one you have been using for the past month. Anyways, I wanted to talk about this really gorgeous primer today, because its not often I will spend £26 on a primer! In fact I rarely opt for high end primers at all seeing as I go through phases of either wearing them every day or not wearing them at all.

During the spring and summer months I tend to opt for a lightweight base which is my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and despite being pretty much in love with how this makes my skin look and feel I can't deny that I sometimes find myself wishing that the longevity was that little bit better as I tend to see it melt away half way through the day. When I pointed this out to the lady on the counter she asked if I'd like to try this Nars Radiance Optimizing Primer and when I saw it on my face (and hers) I was so impressed by the gorgeous 'lit from within' glow it gave to the skin that I was completely sold and paid more than I'd usually pay for a primer.

If you are a fan of having a nice healthy glow to the skin then this primer will definitely be up your street it is creamy with a pearlescent effect and seems to smooth out any flaws and also minimises redness. It is quite unlike any primer I have ever used before in that although it seems to mattify the skin in preparation for any base products it also adds radiance which is something I have always struggled to find in a primer hence why I don't always use them. The lady mentioned on the counter also that despite the SPF 15 that it actually doesn't show up in flash photography making it totally wearable for nights out. I'm actually pretty glad that this comes with SPF as I always forget to put some on during the summer months and Now that I'm getting that bit older god knows I need to start protecting my skin.

In general this does such a good job of helping my makeup stay fresh. It moisturizes any dry patches such as those around my nose so that they don't go flaky and seems to mattify more oily parts of my face like my T-zone so I'd say this would be a really good primer for someone who has combination skin like I do. This is really a perfect primer for me so much so that I have actually thought about repurchasing when this runs out. I just can't imagine sweating it out in the hotter summer weather without this primer to keep my make up from melting off my face! Its definitely going to become a staple in my collection!

Have any of you guys tried this before? I would love to know your thoughts on this and/or other primer products in your collections?

  5. This sounds lovely, I love pearlescent primers but the most expensive one I've tried is MAC. I like that this doesn't go white in photos though!
