Maybelline Lash Sensational

If there's one thing I am totally obsessed with its mascara. I spend ALOT of money on high end mascaras and I'll try anything once. I think its that one make up item that I just couldn't live without and as soon as I put it on I definitely feel much more confident. Recently I've been trying a few newbie mascaras (or new to me anyways) and today I thought I'd give my thoughts on the best of the bunch.

The first thing I noticed about the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is that it is ridiculously similar in both formula and brush to the Benefit Rollerlash Mascara (review here) which in case you didn't know is rated very highly by yours truly and seemingly everyone else in bloggersphere. Obviously this is less than half the price of Rollerlash so if you are looking for a budget friendly option then this is definitely a good alternative. Like Benefit's the formula is as black as black can be and it is just of the right consistency (not too wet or dry).

As I mentioned above this is similar to Rollerlash with a plastic brush that is curved and embellished with teeny tiny little bristles in order to coat even the shortest of corner lashes and completely transform the eye shape. As you might be able to tell from the picture the brush is perfect for separating each lash and lifting them from the root upwards without making them feel heavy or clumpy. It honestly gives my eyelashes such a weightless feel which I personally love, and it didn't smudge or rub off onto my eyelid even when I didn't have a primer on which is always good!

The only thing I would say is that this dried out a little more quickly that I would have wanted it to as it only lasted me about 8 weeks. However, when you think about how inexpensive this product is then its still worth it and I would definitely still recommend this to anyone who wants lots of volume and length without the weight and beautifully defined and fluttery lashes! I do still think that Rollerlash is slightly more dramatic but this is an amazing drugstore alternative!

Have any of you ever used this? What did you think?

  7. I was thinking about picking this up but I'm actually not a massive fan of Roller Lash so I'm not too sure! It's such a bargain that I might just give it a go anyway x

    1. The brush is slightly bigger than roller lash and the formula is much easier to remove too so it could be worth a try haha! Xxxx

  9. I've loved this mascara, it's definitely in my favourites, although I have found it's dried out quicker than other mascaras but maybe thats just because its at its best right when opened where as other mascaras seem to get better with time once they've dried out a bit.

  10. I've seen a lot of comparisons between this and roller lash, I need to try it when I next need mascara! 8 weeks isn't a long time but sounds worth it, and your eyelashes look amazing!
