YSL Fusion Ink Foundation

I recently hauled this foundation in my Luxury Beauty Haul Post and I got a few comments on Instagram asking if I would give it a review, so of course I was more than willing to oblige. It's probably no news to you all that I have extremely problematic skin, which gets far too oily in summer, far too dry in winter, and I suffer from the worst break outs at a certain time of the month; if you know what I mean. I also have acne scars to deal with and the fact that my packed schedule means I can sometimes be wearing a full face of make up for around 12 hours!

Ysl Fusion Ink Foundation claims to be 'light as a feather' on the skin yet stays put all day providing medium coverage. The first thing I noticed about the foundation was the little applicator stick on the inside of the bottle, which although I had no clue what it was for I do like the fact that using it to scoop out the product means that you are left with far left waste as you are not in danger of tipping the whole bottle onto your hand. As soon as I even swatched this I could feel how light it was and I knew that I wanted to try it.

I was matched to BR40, although the lady initially gave me the wrong bottle which I had to go back and change (not her fault it was black Friday and the place was mobbed). The match is pretty much the exact colour of my skin, and overall the product has a great selection of shades with 21 in total. The application of this was super easy with a brush and I could not believe how light and watery it felt, yet it seemed to cover pretty much everything that I wanted it to with a bit of help from my concealer.

The finish of this is It's basically everything I have been looking for in a foundation. Despite being completely and utterly undetectable on the skin it gives me a beautiful, soft focus, flawless look that I have never had from any base product before. I like how it is neither matte nor dewy and lies somewhere in between and can imagine that this will suit a range of skin types due to its versatile formula. This is also the most breathable foundation I have tried! I can't feel it on my skin at all, nor does it ever look heavy or cakey no matter how much I try to apply.

The one thing I did notice was that I did get a little oily in my T zone, but I reckon a good setting powder or spray could fix this problem, and it was nowhere near as bad as it can be with other base products.

I honestly didn't think I could stray away from my trusty Estee Lauder or Nars Sheer Glow, but I'm pretty sure I have found my holy grail foundation in this YSL beauty! It also helps that the packaging is luxurious and stunning too, and this one sits very proudly on my dresser!

Have any of you tried this? What did you think?
