Happy New Year and a Small Break From Blogging

Hello lovelies! Well Christmas day certainly came and went in a bit of a hurry and if I'm honest I feel like I never got to enjoy it as much as I really wanted to as I was working extra hours and stressing about everything and everyone as usual! I have some really great friends and family who I chose to spend my Christmas with and I could not be happier in my own skin right now. I always use to dread getting older but it seems as though the older I get the more content I become with my life and the people I choose to be a part of it. Isn't that strange?

Due to my hectic schedule of late I've decided to take a week away from blogging to enjoy the New Year and just spending some well deserved time with my friends, family and boyfriend. I'm not going to apologize as blogging isn't my job so I'm not obliged to do it everyday or even to schedule posts, but that doesn't mean I'm being lazy or that I don't care! I am so passionate about what has become a huge part of my life in this blog, but sometimes its nice to just take a step back and relax. No-one ever produces good blog posts under pressure, and I'm so fed up of reading about what you should and should not do as a blogger! It really bugs me when people try to put rules to something which is so much fun! People are allowed holidays off from work so why shouldn't I have a couple of days blog free? So I'll see you all in the New Year when I'm refreshed with a whole host of exciting new posts, products and even YouTube videos!

I definitely can't wait to see whats in store for my little blog in 2015, and I'm just hoping that from here on out I continue to grow and nurture my little space on the web the way I have already been doing for the past 12 months. I'm so grateful to every one of you who takes the time to like, comment and read my work, and I honestly couldn't have done it without you all!

All the best for 2015 when it comes! Lots of love!

Everyday Lipstick

Hello lovelies! So today I thought I'd do a post on my favorite lipsticks for everyday wear! These colours are so perfect for wearing to work, school or uni!

First up is one of the products I got in my British Beauty Blogger Dreambox 2 (post here) and its the Lola Intense Colour Lipstick in Strawberry Fields. This is such a gorgeous pale pink shade and has a slight shimmer to it. It's also extremely moisturizing on the lips and such a flattering shade on any skin tone! I just love how natural this is when paired with a subtle smokey eye!

Next up is my Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie in Get Ready, which is such an amazing colour for every day. This is a really deep nude which has a slight sheen to it without being overly glossy. I just think this is the closest thing to a nude that I can wear without my lips disappearing entirely (Kylie Jenner I ain't!)!

Next is Seventeen Stay Pout Lipstick in Audition, which is quite similar to Lola Strawberry Fields except for the fact this is a slightly brighter pink shade and is frosted. I never in a million years expected to like a pink frosted lipstick but from the moment I put this on my lips it was love! It is such a good colour for both everyday wear and glam nights out and is the perfect pink for paler skinned girls too!

Last but not least is Mac Captive which was actually featured in my November Favourites. This is one of the most gorgeous lippies I have in my whole collection and the oictures just don't do it justice. I always feel like Mac lipsticks make my lips look fuller too so along with the super long lasting formula this is pretty much lipstick perfection. I'd probably go as far as to say that this is my favourite ever lip stick, and for a girl who owns 50+ lipsticks and lip glosses that is really saying something!

What do you guys recommend for everyday wear?

My 12 bloggers of Christmas: Part 2

Hello Everyone! Really hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a good lazy Boxing day! You might remember about a week ago I did this post where I talked about some of my favourite bloggers or my '12 bloggers of Christmas' as I called them and I'm back today with part 2!

7. Gemma from Miss Make Up Magpie. This has been one of my favourite beauty blogs since I started following her last year and I love everything about it from the layout to the design to the reviews! Gemma posts every single day, but still manages to keep her reviews so detailed and informative and you can literally see how much work Gemma puts into each and every single post. Shes managed to build up quite a following for herself, but despite being quite a 'big' blogger now she still makes time for her fellow bloggers, participates in blogger chats and just generally seems so lovely! I even advertised my own blog on hers a few months ago because its just that good!

8. Julie from The Julie Ellen. Julie's blog is one of the ones I have read with my mum since I started to become obsessed with beauty blogs. As a more mature women she certainly caters to a different audience as well as girls in their early twenties like myself. I like that Julie is not afraid to venture towards products that many of us may not have heard before, and I have found that reading her blog has introduced me to a lot of new brands I may not have tried otherwise. Her lifestyle posts always tell me the best places for a manicure in Glasgow or even if I'm just looking for somewhere to go for a G&T. I just really love  reading her blog and the fact that my mum and I read it together makes it even better.

9. Eilidh from Maisy Meow. This blog is a more recent discovery of mine, which can I say is just so fantastic! Eilidh's outfit posts no matter how laid back are always completely spot on and her photography is great, and as she lives near me I can always recognize where she is from the background of her photos, which is always a nice touch! I've recently noticed that she has a YouTube channel so I will definitely be watching as I love everything she wears even the most casual of outfits! Her blog layout and design is just so pretty and accessible too!

10. Jemma from Dorkface. Another recent discovery of mine! Jemma's posts are always super creative and she always has great craft and DIY ideas! I also really like her confessional posts and this post was the one that really made me stand up and take notice of Jemma and her blog! I suffer from anxiety, which for those of you who don't know much about it makes small every day problems seem like huge big serious problems and sometimes I can find myself completely consumed with worry and just constantly over thinking every possible little thing. I love when people address the problem via their blog and even if it doesn't make me worry less it does come of some comfort to myself to know that I'm not alone.

11. Jess from Coffee and Cosmetics. I love this blog! Jess is such a versatile blogger who covers everything from events to food and drink to beauty so don't let the name fool you! I really think it can be important in the overly saturated beauty blogger world to really distinguish yourself and I feel as though Jess does just that! Many of her posts are kept short, sweet and to the point, but when she really must go into detail about products she does so brilliantly! You can feel even just reading her blog that she has such a genuine love and a passion for blogging which is amazing!

12. Helen from The Love Cats Inc. This is very much a luxury blog and Helen always seems to have the most beautiful designer clothes and make up, and although I can't always afford it I love reading about her outfits and spending time literally drooling over all of the beautiful make up and clothes she owns and craves! Helen is very straight to the point and will tell it like it is and she isn't afraid to go against the grain and write very detailed posts on some of the more detailed aspects of blogging. As her blog keeps growing she has released many a blogger tips post and I have to admit that hers are very different to some of the ones you see scattered over the internet. Helen's advice is basically to not give a sh*t about what people say you should and should not do in regards to blogging and make your own way however you want. I personally love that advice as some of the blogger tips posts lately contain far too many contradictions! I cannot wait to see what 2015 holds for The Love cats inc!

So that concludes all of my favourite blogs of 2014! Hope you are all following these lovely ladies and if your aren't then go check them out!

Who have your stand out bloggers been this year?

Samples #7: Murad Osmolyte Tonic

A few weeks ago I went through to Edinburgh with Lewis for a couple of days to see a few of our favourite bands and take in the Christmas markets and shopping. I thought it would also be the perfect opportunity to try out some of the beauty product samples I have very rapidly accumulated during the last few months, so I packed this along with a few other things and headed off to the capital.

The Murad Osmolyte Tonic is a facial mist that aims to give the skin a plumper, more refreshed, and more toned appearance by using a certain type of amino acid in order to make skin appear more hydrated. While I have no idea about all the scientific stuff, I can definitely say that this is indeed a good product. As soon as I sprayed this on I noticed that my skin did look a little more refreshed so its obviously good for those of us who are looking for a product which gives them instant results.

I used this after cleansing morning and night and also carried it in my bag with me throughout the day! It was snowing basically the whole time we were in Edinburgh so I really did need something like this to keep my skin hydrated and protected from the bitter cold.

Would I purchase this? I have to say I think I would! I like the idea that this doubles up as a toning product and also a facial mist with skin benefits and the fact it adds pretty much instant hydration and radiance to the skin is just fab! It is also relatively inexpensive! However, I have been looking online for this product and every website seems to be sold out at the moment, which  although disappointing I can only take as a really good sign. I will let you know if I ever do get my hands on it!

Have any of you guys ever tried this? What were your results?

Introducing Pixi

I think with all of the beauty brands available these days it can be extremely hard as a blogger to be able to try every single one! Every time I hear about a new release I am always eager to try it out for myself however beauty products are expensive and I don't always have the money to do so! One of the brands that I have always wanted to try is Pixi ever since it started to appear on all of the top UK blogs! Well I'm glad to say I finally popped my Pixi cherry and ordered a couple of things from Look Fantastic.

I really wanted to try the Pixi Glow Tonic, but unfortunately it seemed to be sold out on all of the websites I tried. However I did order the other product I had been looking at for the past few weeks which is the Eye Zone Brightener. This is essentially a serum containing radiance boosting shimmer particles and aims to banish the dreaded dark under eye circles. It is a nice little product which can be used before or after concealer and I really have been noticing the difference when I use this! Its also the perfect tool for the party season! I think the price of £13.50 for this is okay and sits somewhere in between luxury and drugstore, which is good for those of us who like luxury make up, but don't quite want to pay huge sums of money!

Next up I chose this Nail Colour in Paradise Pink, simply because this is the brightest most gorgeous shade of pink I have ever seen in a nail varnish! There isn't really much I can say about this as I haven't really tried it out properly, but most nail varnishes are pretty much the same in terms of formula ect. I can't wait to rock this when I go on holiday in February! Can only imagine it will look amazing with a tan! This polish I think was around the £6 mark so not too bad at all!

Now to make getting my hands on these beauty goodies even better I was also introduced to the website My Voucher Codes and can reveal they have some fabulous codes which can get you up to 20% off orders at Look Fantastic! You will have to be quick though as some of these offers end very soon!

Have any of you ever tried Pixi Products? What do you recommend?

The Body Shop Christmas Shower Gels

Okay so there is absolutely no denying it...I am a bit too obsessed with The Body Shop! I always have been since I was about 16 and I probably always will be. I just love their products, their values, and everything that they stand for! I'm fairly sure that some people will be fed up of how much I feature them here on my blog but I couldn't really care! Now if there is one product I have used basically forever it is there soap free shower gels! Imagine how excited I get every December when they release their limited edition Christmas scents! So I thought I'd share my thoughts on this years selection!

Vanilla Brulee: This is a really sweet smell and there is no denying that it will not be for everyone, but I personally love it! I bought my friend the perfume for her Christmas and it smells soooo good! Out of the three I think this one really lingers on the skin so its such a lovely shower gel to start the day with and will leave you smelling good enough to eat!

Cranberry Frost: This was the one which was actually featured last year and I loved it then and I still love it this year. This is so fresh but just smells like Christmas to me now that I have used it so much! This will probably the one which everyone will like as its just so fruity with nothing artificial about it!

Glazed Apple: This is definitely my favourite of the three! Such a gorgeous fresh apple scent, but with something sweet thrown in there for good measure. I adore these kind of scents and this is so refreshing to use in my morning shower as the scent just instantly wakes me up! I think I might have to stock up on this to use throughout the year!

The shower gels retail for £4.00 which isn't bad at all for 250ml, and these are such a lovely little luxury to use in the run up to Christmas to get you excited! I'm just pretty disappointed that my all time favourite (gingerbread) isn't in stores this year, but I'm lucky enough to have some stashed away from last year !

Have you guys tried any of these? Which is your favorite?

Postponing Blogmas and a Quick Update

Hello everyone! I understand it has been quite some time since I last posted and I feel like I have to explain why I have taken a week off from blogging when I had originally planned to participate in blogmas and blog every day in December! A few things just cropped up and unfortunately I was unable to dedicate the time needed to post every day!

Firstly, my camera had to be repaired which took a couple of days and although I have a spare I just don't like the quality of the pictures it takes so I decided I'd rather wait until my camera was repaired and I could actually take the shots I wanted as I never want to have posts that I am in any way unhappy with! I love my DSLR and how it can make the most beautiful images even when used by someone like me who is a complete and utter amateur! I've actually found that people really appreciate my images so its clearly a big part of my blog, which I wouldn't want to ruin with a few dodgy phone pictures.

Secondly, my boyfriend took seriously ill with pneumonia and had to spend some time in hospital so obviously that was a huge worry to me and I was a bit preoccupied with that when I was supposed to have been writing blog posts! Just so you all know he is better now and at home and on antibiotics so I'm really pleased!

Lastly, I have been working crazy hours in the run up to Christmas so I have had very little spare time on my hands to actually come up with ideas and manifest them. I do spend such a huge deal of time trying to keep my blog as original and as interesting as possible so I would never dream of publishing anything which could be deemed lazy or half-hearted.

So, that's why I haven't been on here in a little while and I really hope you all undestand! I will be resuming blogmas from tomorrow morning, although I can't promise I will be able to post every day!

Thank you so much for understanding guys!

Experimenting with Make Up: The Festive Face

Hello everyone! This is the make up I have been rocking ever since it hit December and I absolutely love it! I always do something a bit more experimental when I finish up uni for Christmas as I have a bit more time on my hands to really go through all my products and find out what suits me and what doesn't! I think this would be amazing for a party or something and the red lips are just so glamorous!

Products used

I can only apologize for all the creepy faces/poses! I hope you can all still see the make up and that you actually like it! I am pretty much in love with Make Up Revolution products right now and have been loving this palette! Glad that I'm putting it to good use finally after I was so afraid to use it as the colours were definitely not anything I am used to.

What do you guys think of this look? Do you spend much time experimenting with make up?

My 12 Bloggers of Christmas: Part One

I recently saw this post on A Day in the Life of a Northern Girl (which btw is one of my favourite blogs and Hannah is super lovely so I recommend you check her out) and thought that this was just a lovely idea. I feel like sometimes there can be far too much negativity in the blogging world and it's quite hard sometimes not to feel quite over whelmed by it all. I have to say in the whole year I have now been doing this I haven't experienced much of the bad side of it, but I'm determined to keep it that way. So obviously I thought that Hannah's post was a great way to inject some positivity back into the blogging world and show fellow bloggers some support, seeing as its Christmas and all that shazazz!

1. India from Touchscreens and Beauty Queens. What can I say! India and I always have such similar taste in products to the point where I often go to her blog to find products that I just know I am going to love. She is also full of support for my own little blog and is always commenting on my posts and talking to me on twitter. I find her so easy to get on with and she seems really friendly. She also knows a little bit about PR/Blogger relationships so look out for her handy tips!

2. Sian from Sian Marie Beauty. I have to say I have been following this blog since its early days and I have just loved watching how much Sian has grown, and improved so much in every way! She always has posts that make me think 'I could have wrote that!'. Sian really knows how to inject her personality into each and every post and makes me chuckle to myself as well as being very open and honest in each and every review. She is also a super lovely girl and so friendly over social media, I have always found her so warm and inviting!

3. Megan from Thumbelina Lillie. This blog is the one that actually inspired me to start up my own. Seeing how Megan's journey with blogging completely transformed her life made me want to start my own little blogging journey. at just 5ft Megan isn't much smaller than myself so I absolutely love all of her fashion posts, and her cute vintage style is just adorable! She has genuine passion for her blog and also does weekly YouTube videos! Oh and btw she recently came highly commended at the cosmo blog awards so she's one to watch for sure!

4. Em from My Pale Skin. Oh I would give anything to look like this beautiful lady! What I love about her blog is her ability to put into words the sometimes deep insecurities and struggles she feels. I love to know that I'm not the only one who feels like this at times and her confessionals have really helped me. She is also a truly amazing make up artist who can create the most beautiful looks from the whatever products she just has lying around. Thank you Em for your wonderful blog!

5. Julie from Just Julie. Julie is always full of personality and more than willing to tell you when a product is flat out cr*p despite her hefty following. Her photography is always spot on and clear, and I love that she doesn't hold back one bit. In fact, some of her posts literally have me in stitches; she definitely has a good sense of humor. This lady was practically made for the beauty blogging world.

6. Nicole from Coco Made Her Do It. I have a huuuuuuuuge girl crush on this chica! She is just stunning. I love her amazing hair, and her cool edgy style ensembles. However, more recently I've been enjoying her posts on mental health. As a sufferer of a mental health problem myself I can see how important it can be to open up about these kind of things and how talking about them raises awareness. I might not be ready to speak about my own anxiety issues on the blog yet, but hearing about Nicoles battle with depression just gives me the reassurance I need to know that I am not alone. Instead of shying away from her problems she seems to be able to express them in such a confident way with absolutely no shame, which is the way everyone should be. Good on you Nicole!

Who are you guys 12 bloggers of Christmas?

Festive Nail Picks

Is it just me or does anyone else need some seriously sparkly nails to see them through the party season?! I definitely do! I normally get some super glittery acrylics but it can be expensive so I thought I'd show you some of my favourite nail colours to wear throughout December! I definitely don't fork out a huge amount of money on polishes so I have to admit most of mine are either Barry M, Topshop or were given to me as a gift. Instead I use my favourite Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat (review here) to ensure that I don't get smudged or chipped polish!

From left to right: No 7 Totally Teal, No 7 Devil in Disguise, Essie Toggle to the Top, Nails Inc Glamour Magazine Freebie, Barry M Lychee with Barry M Starlight on top.

My other favourites at this time of year include Max factor Colour Effect in Bronze, Barry M Nail Paint in Navy, Essie in Sssssexy, and Collection Bedazzled Effects in Razzle dazzle.

I don't know about you guys but I don't ever seem to finish a nail varnish. They always just end up all gloopy and sad so I'm on a complete mission to try to completely finish at least one in the new year haha!

What are you guys favourite Christmas Nails?

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation

I recently hauled this foundation in my Luxury Beauty Haul Post and I got a few comments on Instagram asking if I would give it a review, so of course I was more than willing to oblige. It's probably no news to you all that I have extremely problematic skin, which gets far too oily in summer, far too dry in winter, and I suffer from the worst break outs at a certain time of the month; if you know what I mean. I also have acne scars to deal with and the fact that my packed schedule means I can sometimes be wearing a full face of make up for around 12 hours!

Ysl Fusion Ink Foundation claims to be 'light as a feather' on the skin yet stays put all day providing medium coverage. The first thing I noticed about the foundation was the little applicator stick on the inside of the bottle, which although I had no clue what it was for I do like the fact that using it to scoop out the product means that you are left with far left waste as you are not in danger of tipping the whole bottle onto your hand. As soon as I even swatched this I could feel how light it was and I knew that I wanted to try it.

I was matched to BR40, although the lady initially gave me the wrong bottle which I had to go back and change (not her fault it was black Friday and the place was mobbed). The match is pretty much the exact colour of my skin, and overall the product has a great selection of shades with 21 in total. The application of this was super easy with a brush and I could not believe how light and watery it felt, yet it seemed to cover pretty much everything that I wanted it to with a bit of help from my concealer.

The finish of this is just...wow. It's basically everything I have been looking for in a foundation. Despite being completely and utterly undetectable on the skin it gives me a beautiful, soft focus, flawless look that I have never had from any base product before. I like how it is neither matte nor dewy and lies somewhere in between and can imagine that this will suit a range of skin types due to its versatile formula. This is also the most breathable foundation I have tried! I can't feel it on my skin at all, nor does it ever look heavy or cakey no matter how much I try to apply.

The one thing I did notice was that I did get a little oily in my T zone, but I reckon a good setting powder or spray could fix this problem, and it was nowhere near as bad as it can be with other base products.

I honestly didn't think I could stray away from my trusty Estee Lauder or Nars Sheer Glow, but I'm pretty sure I have found my holy grail foundation in this YSL beauty! It also helps that the packaging is luxurious and stunning too, and this one sits very proudly on my dresser!

Have any of you tried this? What did you think?

My First YouTube Video: Festive Party Haul

So I have something slightly different for you all today! I finally filmed my first ever YouTube! I had been planning on doing one for a while as I always want to show you guys the things I buy, but I feel like pictures just don't do them justice and I really want to be able to have another platform where I can talk about things that maybe aren't so easy to do a blog post on! I had a lot of shopping lying around my room this week so I finally bit the bullet, set up my tripod and did it!

As this is my first video I do ramble on quite a bit and go off topic so much, so that's something I will be working on for next time. My editing skills also leave a lot to be desired but I can only get better with practice; we've all got to start somewhere! I'm also a little confused as to why my video thumbnail looks so small on blogger so if anyone has any tips please do share in the comments!

Please do be kind as I can't imagine its easy for anyone to put a video of themselves up on the internet and it definitely wasn't for me, but I really enjoyed doing it! I am still a bit worried whether people will think I'm a complete freak for posting videos of myself talking about my shopping, but everyone is going to have to get used to it!

Please do go to my channel and subscribe and like the video! I have lots more planned and I really hope this is going to be something I can start doing on a regular basis. Also sorry to those of you who can't understand my Scottish accent haha!

Are any of you on YouTube? Was it scary for you?

Festive Lip Picks

Hello all, thought I would create a little Christmas party inspiration here on the blog and give you all a look at some of my favourite lip products for this time of year! Everyone knows that come December that 'less is more' is a phrase of the past and it suddenly becomes all about the glitter, the smokey eye, and the bold lip!

First up is the budget option which is Make Up Revolution Lipstick in the shade Reckless. This is just the most perfect colour if you want a variation of the classic red lip, which is slightly more vampy or if you like a bit of sheen to it! Despite the very small price tag these look gorgeous on the lips, and are also super long lasting. I would say the finish is glossy, which I personally prefer over matte when it comes to party looks!

Next I have Dolce and Gabanna Passion Duo Gloss Fusion Lipstick in the shade Intense, which is a really dark brown with just a hint of berry to it! I chose this because I think this looks amazing with pale skin, and lets face it, most of us are a little pale in winter! The formula is great as it has a balm in the middle to keep lips soft and hydrated and lots of very pigmented colour surrounding it! So its definitely practical as well as pretty!

Lastly, I have selected the colour Heartful from the British Beauty Blogger Lip Trio Set, which I reviewed here. I like this because its much softer than a normal lipstick so is perfect for those of us who prefer sheer colour rather than a full on power lip. This is a bright bold red which looks quite fun and retro, and I can only imagine it looking effortlessly cool avec black winged eyeliner.

What are you guys favourite lip products for the festive season?

MUA Plush Argan Concealer

It's not often that I find a budget base product and find myself seriously impressed with it, but it seems to have been the case with the MUA Argan Plush Concealer. I actually didn''t use it for a while after I bought it because I have so many concealers and to be honest I can't say i was expecting this to be any good.It looks a little like a crayon, which intrigued me as I haven't seen anything like it before and is one of the reasons that I picked it up! I would never have expected just how much it brightens up my under eye area!

As you may be able to tell from the picture its quite thick in consistency, so you will probably need a brush to blend it in (I recommend the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for this!). Despite the creamy consistency it actually blends pretty well which might have something to do with the fact it is made from argan oil; and by the time you have your whole face of make up on it is almost undetectable on the skin! I say almost because it can get a little darker throughout the day although I wear my make up for around 12 hours each day so I'm probably being really picky as most people won't need a concealer to last such a long time. It definitely provides high coverage over dark circles and blemishes and the longevity is really impressive for a £3 product! Yes £3!

The only thing I would say is that the colour range isn't terribly extensive as is to be expected from cheaper brands, but I managed to find something that seems to match my skin really well! If you are paler than me you might struggle to find anything which matches I'm afraid!

That said I really do love this product, and I can't believe I haven't heard about this before. It's so unique and has such a gorgeous whipped texture! I will be recommending this to anyone on the look out for a cheap concealer!

Have any of you ever heard of this before? Wold you buy it?

Beauticology Christmas Gifts

Does anyone else really struggle to get small gifts at Christmas time? You know the little office secret Santa presents or just to wrap up under the tree in case someone unexpectedly arrives at your house with a gift and low and behold you don't have anything for them! This has definitely happened to me a few times so this year I decided I was going to buy a couple of small things to put under the tree in case I forgot about anyone or received unexpected gifts from anyone

These Beauticology by Bayliss and Harding gifts are just what I was looking for! I adore the cutesy packaging with the little gingerbread men on! At just £5 each these are definitely good little presents to have at hand in case of emergency! I also got a 3 for 2 offer in Boots so I got three of these for a tenner! Not bad eh? I love gingerbread and vanilla scents, so these are definitely right up my street and how cute are the little stripey socks?!

I bought the
Softs Gift Set, which comes with red and white striped cosy socks, vanilla scented foot lotion and strawberry foot soak, which would be great for a pamper night or to use before a Festive night out! Also I got Sweet Temptations which has a cranberry and a gingerbread shower gel along with a little strawberry soap to leave you smelling sweet after a shower or a bath! Might even get more of these to give to some of my friends as they are the perfect little indulgent gift!

What do you guys think of these? Would you like to receive them as gifts?

Newbies #9

I bought a couple of new things this week as buying all these Christmas presents has made me feel a bit too spendy! I thought they might be something you would all like to see on here so lets see what I got shall we...

I bought a new Rimmel Lip Liner in Rich as I just really don't have enough lip liners! I expect I'll be wearing dark lipstick a lot more as I attend my share of Christmas parties so I just thought this one was the most gorgeous colour! Also Rimmel lip liners are some of the best I have tried so if you don't want to splurge on a Mac one at this time of year I recommend them! I actually got this from Amazon for like 99p and received it the next day so that is definitely the place for beauty bargains!

I also decided to get a new nail polish from Barry M as despite the fact I probably buy at least one new polish every week I end up so bored of the same colours. This one is called Vintage Violet and it's just so pretty! The photos don't even do it justice! I rarely splash out on expensive nail varnish as I've always found that they tend to be pretty much the same quality wise no matter what your spend so Barry M is where the majority of my collection is from. They just do amazing high fashion colours, and lots of different finishes too!

Lastly, I picked up the Maybelline Better Skin Concealer after seeing it a while back on The Sunday Girl. Adrienne is one of my very favourite beauty bloggers of all time and she really does seem to have very similar taste to me when it comes to products so it was only inevitable that I would end up with this little beauty. So far so good as it seems to do a good job coverage wise but is still light in texture and on the skin! I'm sure I will probably do some sort of review on this as I know concealer can often be a hard thing to get right so keep your eyes peeled guys!

What have you lot been buying this week? Well apart from Christmas presents obviously?

Luxury Beauty Haul

With the festive period now upon us it was only necessary that I went out and got a few new beauty bits to see me through to the new year! So I recently headed to the House of Fraser (where I also work in case you didn't already know) and went around some of my favourite high end counters! There is something seriously satisfying about buying expensive make up!

The first thing I got was the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation, which is a fairly new product and was on the receiving end of rather a lot of hype when it was first released. I'm definitely not one to buy into hyped up products so I didn't get it back then. It was only after I actually complimented one of my colleagues on her make up and she actually mentioned this foundation that I decided to get it! Her skin looked so flawless! I've never used YSL base products before so I don't know what to expect, but I've heard good things so I have quite high hopes!

I also picked up the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, which I have wanted for absolutely ages! I had a gift card from something that I'd returned so it almost seemed like fate and I was matched to the colour Custard which looks pretty much like my most perfect match ever! Its quite thick in consistency and I think its supposed to be quite high coverage so I'm hoping it will help cover the under eye dark circles from all of the hangovers I'll be sporting this month. Working in retail during the festive period definitely has its bad points!

Lastly, I went to the Bare Minerals counter as I wanted to try on some of their base products for every day wear. I wasn't too sure about them in the end so I just went for a lip product as you can't really go wrong with that! This is the Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready and it seems to be a very hydrating formula which will be perfect for everyday. I really love the colour as its so natural and I don't really have much like it in my collection.

Will you guys be buying any luxury make up for the festive season? What do you all have your eye on?

My Attempt at Blogmas and the Christmas Tag

Okay everyone so I was going to try and do blogmas and blog every day in December, but as I have a bit of uni work and I'm away for a couple of days with the other half next week its near enough impossible! BUT I am going to at least try to blog as much as possible although I don't like putting posts up unless I'm completely happy with them so if I don't have the time to write quality content then I simply won't blog! Hope you all understand! And to kick things off I have a wonderful Christmas tag which I thought would get me in the mood!

1.What are your favourite Christmas movies?

Probably my all time favourite is Its a Wonderful Life. It's just the most genuinely uplifting film ever. I was actually made by my mum to watch this when I was younger after protesting that I wouldn't like it and then when I loved it it was so hard to try and pretend to her after that it wasn't the best thing ever! I also really like Elf, although I've seen it so many times I probably know the words off by heart.

2. What is your favourite Christmas song?

To be honest I can't say I'm a huge fan of Christmas music as a lot of the time I find it a little annoying and too cheesy. I really like Father Christmas by The Kinks although it isn't the cheeriest Christmas song around haha!

3. Can you name all of Santas reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Cupid, Prancer, Vixen...ahhhh thats all I can remember I'm afraid!

4. Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Yes when I was little but it rarely happens anymore!

5. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

I go out with all of my life long friends to our local pub and then wake up ridiculously hungover on Christmas morning haha!

6. Do you have any Christmas Day traditions?

Not really! Christmas day is always a pretty low key as we tend to do a bigger family thing on Boxing Day instead! But I usually have a nice bath with all my nice Christmas scented things, drink mulled wine and chill in my PJs.

7. Is your tree real or fake?

Its a false one but I think my mum has her heart set on a real tree this year!

8. What tops your Christmas tree?

I think it changes every year but usually its a star I think!

9. Are you a present wrapping pro or a bang it together and go person?

Oh I am definitely a perfectionist when it comes to wrapping presents! I spend so much money just trying to get all of the right tools and the most unique wrapping paper...and then there is the ribbons and glitter and everything! I'm a bit mad.

10. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

When we were little our mum used to let us open one present on Christmas Eve but now I think I normally just open them all in the morning.

11. What is your favourite Christmas food or drink?

Probably mulled cider its so tasty! Or anything Gingerbread flavoured!

12. What do you enjoy most about Christmas?

Just everyone being in such a good mood and really going that extra mile to show people you appreciate them even if its just giving them a Christmas card! Everyone always seems to just come together at this time of year.

That's me done the Christmas tag so feel free to copy and paste if you haven't already done it !

Are any of you guys doing blogmas this year?
