Samples #2 : Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash

This morning I was just about to pop into my usual daily shower when I realized my skin was looking a little flaky and dry. As it turns out I hadn't had a good old exfoliating session in too long, which is uncharacteristically naughty of me as I'm normally a complete geek when it comes to exfoliation. I like my skin to be as fresh, clean and soft as possible so I always make sure to exfoliate twice a week. I also suffer from oil and breakouts so its very important for me to make sure I get rid of all the impurities and reveal fresher, newer skin beneath.

Earlier on in the week I told you all about how I was going to do some mini reviews on my huge stash of samples to use them up so I took this as the perfect opportunity to raid through my stash and find something. Eventually I found this Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash. Philosophy have always been one of my favourite brands for skincare and I rather enjoy the simple fuss free packaging. Since the brand is sometimes a little out of my reach in terms of price I decided to give this a go and see how it held up to some of the more high street brands.

IWhen I squeezed this out of the packed it felt amazing and a little similar to the No7 Microdermabrasion Exfoliator, which is one of my HG products. The only difference seemed to be that the exfoliating beads in this one were even finer, and possibly that there were more of them. This was also a lot more gentle on my skin, which it probably has to be due to the fact this is intended for daily use. The No7 one on the other hand is more of a weekly treatment so I'd perhaps say that it is possibly more effective if a little harsh on the skin.

Overall this did a great job of smoothing out and refining the texture of my skin. As soon as I got out the shower I could not help but notice how soft and radiant my skin looked and felt. The question as to whether I would actually go out and purchase this is tricky, however, as while I did enjoy this sample I have no idea as to how this could affect my skin long term, and though it would be interesting to see I just think this is a little to pricey for me to purchase after just one teeny tiny trial sample.

Have any of you ever used this exfoliator? Is it any good long term ?

  1. I was using it for about a year before I began using origins. I absolutely loved it for the first few months. It made my cleanser work so much better and I felt good every time I used it. I do remember getting tired of it and feeling like it wasn't enough. Then once I did get a new exfoliant I realy noticed how it really did stop working for me. I did really love it though and I will probably re perchase it at some point. It's a reasonable price and I think you should give it a go!
