Getting Lippy.

Hey everyone!
I am having something of an obsession with lip products at the moment and as a result I marched straight into boots after uni on Friday and purchased about 6. I am going to do a small post to let you know my thoughts on my favorite three. Most of you will probably have heard of all three by now or perhaps read other blog reviews, but I still thought it was worth giving you guys an insight into how, I personally, got along with them.

Rimmel Apocalips in 'Apocaliptic, £6.49

This is is the colour 'Apocaliptic' both on my lips and a light swatch on my hand.

This product is marketed as a 'lip laquer' and comes in a lip gloss like tube with a doe foot applicator. I think the packaging for this product is beautiful and looks really expensive. Overall, it is a hybrid between a lip gloss, a lipstick, and a lipstain. What I mean by that is that it goes on glossy but drys quite matte. It doesn't have the sticky sensation associated with lip gloss nor does it make your lips dry or flaky a la lipstick.

The product is a beautiful and bold dark pink, which is really eye catching. I have to say that this will not suit all complexions so make sure you swatch the colour before you purchase. To be honest this is not a colour I would wear on a daily basis but a rather gorgeous colour for a night out. It also has lasting power of around three to four hours, and currently comes in 13 different shades.

I have to admit this product can be hard to apply as I found the concave doe applicator often carries too much product, so you might want to use a lip liner.

Rimmel Colour Rush Lip Crayon in '700 Not An Illusion', £5.99

This was another Rimmel product which I got really excited to try out, but I have to admit I think I was expecting far too much. It may be because lip crayons have been all over bloggersphere recently or because the seem to be popping up on every beauty counter ever since Clinique's Chubby Stick was born.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I thought this would be more like a lip butter, and also that it would moisturize my lips. I have to say it feels a bit sticky and dry, but I have found that I can put a lip balm on first to eliminate this problem.

Overall, I do like this product as I cannot fault the colour, which looks very natural and pretty, and it doesn't dry out as quickly as the Apocalips does. I also think its worth mentioning that it just smells amazing, and I'm pretty sure its not a known feature of the product, but it smells like cupcakes!! (Yummo!) Its also a lot cheaper than some of the other lip crayons on the market and I definitely think its worth the £5.99.

Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me', £2.99

I'm just going to throw it out there that I wasn't really expecting much from this. I thought it was just a really over hyped tinted lip balm, and I suppose some people will say that it is, but I think for £2.99 you can't really expect it do anything more than what it does.

Truthfully, I was not a fan of the cute packaging at first and thought it cheap and unnecessary, but it seems to have won me over. You see, every time I take this out of my bag the bright colours make me smile, not to mention it smells absolutely delicious. It is also a really hydrating formula and seems to really sink into my lips leaving behind just a subtle hint of cherry red.

So yes, I will definitely repurchase this as I'm a huge fan of tinted lip balms in the winter, not to mention this cheap and cheerful lip balm smells amazing. I'm now really looking forward to trying the whole collection, I wonder if they all smell this divine.

Let me know what you think of any of these products in the comments below? Have any of you written a review yourself? Leave me a link to your page and I'll be sure to check it out!

Much Love, L :)
